This book was scary...I'm glad I read it on a sunny morning! Even though horror is not my usual genre, I was definitely interested to see how the story turned out. I thought the ways that Korean culture was interspersed throughout the story. I wished that the friendship between Harper and Dayo was more fleshed out (which might happen more in the second book in the series?) and wasn't a huge fan how early in the book it was implied that Harper was doing self-harm and that was linked with ghostly possession, but that definitely disappeared as more was revealed about Harper's missing memories from the past. There is a fair amount of violence on the page, so hand to middle grade readers carefully, but for middle graders who love scary movies about hauntings, this will be one they can't put down.
