I think I can see why they chose to add "2.0" to the title. While this is a continuation of the animated series, it doesn't quite pick up where it left off. Part of the new set up is a little murky. I'm getting the impression that they're using the Return of the Joker film as a major event that caused more than a few changes that we didn't get to see happen. But at the same time, some of those changes don't seem to line up with how I remember that film ending. I feel like they need to do a flashback arc to illustrate the connections they're implying here.

Otherwise, I think it holds pretty true to the series. We get two separate story arcs: one dealing with a new villain in the universe (that teams up with a few of the other new villains that were introduced in the Beyond cartoons), and one dealing with the return of an old enemy from Bruce's bat days. Which reminds me, it was kind of a nice touch to see elements from the Batman Animated series retold here as flashbacks. I felt it helped to tie it more into the continuity of the DC animated universe.

As I don't usually follow DC comics, I'm not sure if there's more coming in this series. I'll have to remember to keep an eye out for them.
