So, finally made it to volume 6 of my journey revisiting this series since I first read it at about 11 years old.
This volume is so - emotional, in a good way. We finally are told what happened to the Sinners and about Chrono's own past with Mary. Ah, reminds me how the anime went with Rosette being Mary's reincarnation and in the manga, if memory serves you can interpret that way. It's still weird seeing Aion nice once upon a time, and Shader being the creator of the pocket watch. I guess Chrono figured out how it worked as he was locked up. To which, the pocket watch itself is an important key in the story, but it's rarely brought up. Like, we know that it allows Chrono to use his demonic power via using up Rosette's soul - thus cutting her lifespan, as he can't access the Astrallines without his horns. But aside from the fights, and what happened in vol 5 with Chrono losing control the pocket watch isn't in the forefront. Which, makes sense as the whole manga's theme is to fight against destiny and time itself. It's pretty hammered in and I love it.
