I give this 3 stars....I didn't really know what to think of it, but it was definitely better than 2 stars....maybe 2 1/2? Probably the most bizarre book I have ever read.
As always for Palahniuk, fantastically funny, and over the top in a hilarious way. Very entertaining and definitely worth reading.

I just... This book was boring. I was really looking forward to it too. :(
I ended up abandoning this book about half way through. The style was impossible to ignore, and took me out of the book constantly. I've been a fan of many of Palahniuk's other works, but this is a huge fail. The constant stream (by which I mean seemingly every page) of, "I may be 13, but I'm not a moron!" got really old, really fast. It made me loathe the narrator, and ruined the flow of the story.

Phew, a lot to unpack on this one. I liked the satire of it. I liked the interesting descriptions and inclusion of many deities. It was a fun read.
But…
The use of so many slurs is gross. I understand it was written before people evolved into being conscience about harmful slurs, but it’s not for me. I read to escape, not to get angry.
