This is a funny but gross out type of book. There are a lot of puns and overall silliness, on the same page as descriptions of river of vomit and shit (and others that shall remain unmentionable). The story is told from the point of view of Madison Spencer, the teenage daughter of a couple of Hollywood stars, who has managed to kill herself by overdosing on marijuana. Yes, I know, you can't overdose on MJ, but trust me, this book makes it make sense. Readers should be forewarned that this is book 1 of at least a 2 book series. If you're familiar with the 80s movie, The Breakfast Club, you'll love this book, as that is how this book is structured. A good read, but maybe not for the younger readers.
I can't say that I enjoyed this book. But I didn't not enjoy it, either.
I was kind of disturbed at some points while Madison explored her sexuality as, not being a pedophile, a 13 year old girl's hormonal ratings about sex and things she finds sexy was slightly unappealing.
Her reign of Hell wasn't believable and Satan being her creator? Bleh.
The book was rather boring. Disappointing.
C'mon, Chuck. I expected slightly more out of you than this.

It got better near the end, but overall, probably the least effective and interesting book of Palahniuk's I've read. I kind of can't believe he did a sequel (Doomed) but (and hopefully this isn't a spoiler) you kind of knew it was coming.
As read by Tai Simmons. Funny and dreadful at the same time.

This was okay, had some interesting parts and messages but nothing special altogether. Would not necessarily recommend this, if you have a lot of stuff on your TBR
