Alyssa’s Autumn Affair by, Tabetha Waite was a thrill for me to read. As usual her writing wrapped me up into the romantic love affair between Travell and Alyssa. I enjoyed the romance, mystery and heart warming moments that left me smiling with contentment at the end of each chapter. Tabetha’s faithful readers will enjoy reading this book as much as I have. One thing I will add is limit the broad vocabulary.
The words left me a little lost during some important moments. I struggled with some of the meaning. Keep the wording simple, this will allow the reader enjoy the book even more. The reader will focus more on the love story and not words that they are unsure of the meaning. This doesn’t take away from how good the book is.
Travel and Alyssa are the couple that I had a wonderful time reading about. I voluntary reviewed this ARC after receiving a free gifted copy.

When Travell's father, the Earl, shows up after disappearing 7 years before things get crazy. His father is dangerously out of his mind and can only be controlled with heavy doses of laudanum. Nothing seems to help until their neighbor Alyssa shows up to visit. When the Earl sees her he mistakes her for his daughter or his wife but whatever he thinks she seems to have a calming presence.
Travell's sister Triana has been Alyssa's friend since they were children and so she is familiar with the family and the house.
Almost from the start, the two of them dance around each other, neither wanting to admit that their feelings are more that friendly. Raised by her recently deceased aunt, Alyssa is now living with her cousin and his wife who don't really want her underfoot.
When they begin to investigate where his father has been for so long and why he left things begin to get dangerous for all involved.
Alyssa's strength and independence allow her to help the Earl out of his sickness and eventually to help Travell put all the pieces together.
I received an advanced copy of this book for review.
