Another stellar read from Megan Miranda, though not the one I enjoyed the most. Was really great but the stakes and shock only really arose in the last three chapters.

This ticked all of my summer suspense vibe boxes. The small town vacation setting felt cozy and mysterious and quickly became my favorite part of the book (aside from the gorgeous cover). The mystery and conclusion were solid and satisfying. It was a fun read, I just don't think anything stands out in my mind that's going to make it the most memorable book I've read. One minor thing I disliked was that there were a lot of characters and it was hard to follow who's who at times.

I do plan on reading some more Megan Miranda in the future...if only for her ability of writing compelling small towns I'm sold!

It was hard to follow at some parts. I noticed my attention would drift off. A good concept on small town secrets.

I feel bad rating this so low, but this wasn't the kind of "Edge-of-your-seat" thriller that is mentioned on the cover. I kept wondering when that moment would come... Sadly it never did for me. I don't think I would've continued this book if I wasn't listening to it on audio. I just sped it up to get through it quicker and find out the "big mystery".

When all was revealed, I thought "Oh, is that all?", the things I was making up in my head were more exciting. The writing and characters didn't really do much for me either. I never felt like I desperately needed to listen to the next chapter, and at times my mind would wander to other things. This could be a case of this particular story wasn't my cup of tea. I think I'll give one of Megan's other books a go, and see what I think. Any suggestions on which other one of her books you have liked?

Couldn’t get connected to the main character. Story seemed to drag on, even though it was a quick read. Just not the story for me

It was fine. I thought the jumps in time were difficult to keep up with.
