I liked it, but then I didn't. Then I did.
I thought the first book to this duo was amazing. And still think that. However, this second book seems to hop from one topic to the other, it isn't very clear. Also, the reading was a little tough, I sometimes found my self-reading a passage over three times. I also was not very fond of Ada in this book, I felt like this book was supposed to make me understand her but I didn't. I will say though, this definitely filled a void that was there after reading the last book. I got to see how it ended and it was lovely.

I didn't like this quite as much as the first, but still enjoyed it. I appreciated the complex characters, both adults and children, and all of the historical references.

For the first half of the book I was dreading reading on. I didn't really like the main characters attitude towards everyone around her. I found her being very ungrateful to Susan and kind of cruel to her little brother when he tries to call Susan mom. However, there is a great amount of character development towards the end when she starts to realize all the things that she has gained during the war when she sees everyone else losing things.

This was good, but overall...I was bored *sobs* It could have been shorter, so easily, but here we are. NOPE. It was a good story, though. Very good.
