Very fun and engaging surface-level story. All plot with 2D characters. Plot twists eventually became predictable but still a fun read. Likely wouldn’t recommend except as a good introduction to mystery thrillers.

*3,8 stars*

Not the type of book I would typically read, but it was an easy read and a page turner.

Excellent!

I really liked it, so if you didn't - bully for you.
It is not great writing, but it is fun, entertaining, and moves quickly.

Who doesn't love it... really?

DO NOT WATCH THE MOVIE!!!! It sucks.

Not as good as Angels & Demons...

I
HATED
THIS
I mean I clearly have bad luck after reading 4 great books, because since then all the books I've read did not get a better rating then 2 stars. AND THIS WILL DEFINITELY NOT GET ONE.
I just did not like anything about this. Like how is this so popular, and what do people like about this? It's boring and stupid and has so many useless parts that omg I can't even count them. I mean it's more than 600 pages and it was true torture.
So the story is I guess, that we have this Curator who gets killed by this guy called Silas, or how they call him in the book ,,a big white muscular albino". And turns out this guy killed 3 other people because he needed to get some information out of them. Obviously our naiv friend thought that they must say the truth because ALL OF THEM said the exact same thing. Suspicious anyone? No? Okay...well moving on.
Our Curator in his last 15 minutes was able though to create a code which was indeed very clever, but he kinda screwed with our main character Robert Langdon because that damned police thought he killed him. Good job everyone. That the granddaughter of the Curator, Sophie arriver and is certain that her grandpa left that code for her. And from here on Langdon and Sophie were causing all types of havoc for the police for running away and making very stupid decisions. Like Sophie, who by the way works at the police because she's a cryptographer, has this great idea of buying two train tickets with Langdons credit card, because SURELY the police won't think it's a trap. Plot twist they knew. Than they go into this super high tech bank and try to figure out the code for the safe (they needed 10 numbers and If you were paying the slightest attention you were able to figure out that it was in the beginning of the book, yeah it took them a bit more time but do all ya want). Then they trust the Bank director for no reason, except that he said that he was the Curators friend. Obviously he then screws them over, but YET again they can get away without any problem. Than they go to this royal knight guy who is obsessed with our main mystery the Holy Grail. And from now on you have about half of the book left with 200 pages of story timing and 100 pages of them actually solving something. Sounds delightful isn't it? Yeah well I hope everyone knows why I gave this book such low rating.
OH, and also what's the point of for example saying ,,the corpse was lying in a position that Langdon had never seen in his life" and then one chapter later they tell the exact same thing again and then in the next chapter they tell you how it actually looked like. Why can't you just tell us right away. I mean it did not create any tension it just annoyed me for making me wait for something that I did not care about. And also they create all these mysteries in the story that should be really big and all but in the end they solve it in 2 second, so in 2 chapters and then they find another one and they do the same thing. I just don't get it
I'm probably very rude with this review but oh boy if not 20 times than not once have I thought about DNF-ing this book. It was ridiculously disappointing

Svakom ko voli dobar triler preporučujem ovu knjigu. Sad mi je žao što je nisam ranije pročitao. No, nikad nije kasno.

This book was entertaining, and I think I would have liked this, even more, had I read it when I was younger. Now the clues and interpretations of a lot of the things in the book were so far-fetched for me, and sometimes even over-the-top I rolled my eyes a few times, but I would let it slip because a.) it's purely fictional and b.) I was entertained no matter how silly it was at times, although I also have to complain that even though this book was fast-paced, it felt really long!
