I'd like to give it 2.5. Straight down the middle.

I thought this was going to be a serious book, but it's SO goofy. It's absolutely silly and unrealistic and ridiculous. But it was fun enough, and the writing was fine. Though I didn't care much for the end, the plot twists were also goofy.

What else is there to say about one of the best-selling books of the decade? It's great and deserves all the praise.

I have had this book on my list since its days on the bestseller list, and, as often is the case, this story did not live up to the hype that preceded it. From the very beginning, it felt like I was reading a screenplay. You could almost picture the storyboards that Brown was trying to create. The dialogue was predictable, as was the characterization.
On the upside, I did enjoy the conspiracy theory angle that Brown presented, placing the church in a greedy, stop-at-nothing light. The historical information was also interesting, giving me a new-found interest in art history.

It was an okay book, definetly not one of my favorites and now that i read it i still don't understand what the big deal was about it.
