Un libro precioso, con una atmósfera muy buen hecho, y descripciones detalladas que le dan un toque mágico. La historia es turbia, pero a la vez dulce, y me encantaron los personajes. De lecciones sobre la vida, la muefte y el amor, y te hace reflexionar sobre estos temas. Tot parecía un sueño febril, y temía que llegase el momento en que Oscar descubriese que nada había sido real. Los caricaturescos personajes de Germán y Marina me parecían fantasmas desde el principio, y la historia muy misteriosa y extraña para ser real. Me sigo preguntando si lo era.

Es un libro que se lee del tirón. La inspiración del Frankenstein de Shelley es evidente, pero quiero ver también referencias a Drácula y a Blade Runner. El final es devastador.

I really enjoyed the author's writing style, which is an interesting thing to say about a translated work. It was grandiose and archaic--quite my thing. In fact, a few times I asked E for vocabulary help, and he asked me what on Earth I was reading, because the words were out-dated.
I also got along well with Oscar and Marina. Although some of Oscar's decisions and actions were a little contrived (the narration had to proceed), I liked his determination to get to the end of the story. Creepy and gruesome, but not overly disgusting--an irresistibly dark tale with an appropriate ending (to both stories, actually.)
