Great book to get someone started into mystery/horror. Love it it broke my hart but i can't blame it
La prosa de Zafón es fascinante. Te lleva de viaje por Barcelona sin que haga falta poner un pie en la ciudad. La historiad que nos narra de Marina y Óscar es tierna, intrigante y te revuelve el corazón. El misterio que transcurre a lo largo del libro, mantiene al lector enganchado e incapaz de parar de pasar páginas junto con el desarrollo de los personajes y sus relaciones. Me ha encantado.
Nope. Noooooope. Really wanted to like this, but the pacing was so very off that I couldn't even be excited when we finally did really get to the horror part of the horror, and the too many adult characters were in and out so fast I couldn't keep track of who was whom or what was happening. I think I'll stick to Spanish horror film rather than books.

While I love Carlos Ruiz Zafon's adult novels, this is one of his young adult novels and I was not all that fond of it. The premise is interesting, but it did not have the same beautiful storytelling that I love from his other books. Perhaps the translator was different and less able to render the beautiful language in translation that has been done in his other books?

J'adore Marina. Je vais toujours garder cette histoire près de mon coeur. Je l'ai lu pour mon cours de français en 10e année. J'ai appris le mot "fantasmagorique" et je crois que c'est la seule façon de décrire ce livre.
I adored Marina. I will always keep this story close to my heart. I read it for my French class in 10th grade. I learnt the word "phantasmagorical" and I believe it is the only way to describe this book.
