I was so looking forward to Eden’s story and it did not disappoint!
I was pleasantly surprised by Eden’s backstory, and the personas she has in her personal and professional life. I love that we got to see a softer side of her, and I loved her relationship with Jack and how fiercely she loves and protects him. I also liked seeing the glimpses of Eden and Clay’s relationship before Jade, and seeing the bond between them.
Jade and Eden’s chemistry was so good! There were times when it felt a bit rushed, and their connection felt a little Insta-love at times, but overall I did really enjoy their connection and growth together. I loved seeing how Eden brought out this side of Jade that she didn’t think existed in her, and how much Jade grew in confidence and learning to speak up for herself and not be embarrassed or ashamed of what she wants.
Jade and Clay’s relationship was also really fun. I love seeing how much Jade helped Clay heal after having his heart broken by Eden. The sneaking around aspect of it all was fun, although I am not surprised her Dad knew lmao they were not that sly. I like that they still chose each other, even after everything happened with Eden. As much as they wanted her too, they wanted one another regardless of if Eden chose them and I really liked that because at times it felt like Eden and Clay had a stronger bond, so it was nice to see Clay and Jade choose one another first.
Clay and Eden’s relationship had me curious from the glimpses I saw of them in Highest Bidder, and they kind of exceeded my expectations honestly. I love how vulnerable Clay was with Eden, and how much he trusted her. I love that Eden was able to give Clay the space to be that way.
I feel like there were some parts of the book that were a bit rushed, I would’ve loved to see Eden, Jade and Clay have more conversations about what their future might entail Dan’s how they would navigate it. I wish we had seen more of Clay and his mother too, we got that great conversation between them but nothing after and it just felt like there was more to see there! I would’ve also liked to have seen Jade’s dad finding out about Eden - it did seem kind of weird to me that they kind of hid their relationship from him for a year when Eden had previously said that it wasn’t fair for them to not live honestly during the initial breakup.
Overall, I did really enjoy Eden, Clay and Jade’s story and ending this series with all the characters we have gotten to know throughout these books was so lovely - I especially enjoyed Jack’s epilogue, it felt full circle to have started this book with Eden and Jack and to have ended it with them, now with their bigger family.
