Well after second book that seemed less like Harry Potter, third book took place mostly in the Magisterium again and it just reminded HP. BUT it wasn't negative. I really liked how Holly and Cassandra tell the story and it's really unpredictable until the very end. When you think "Wow, this was a huge plot-twist!" you don't have the time to recover and there comes another one. The only thing I didn't like was the ending, because it seems, like there are few chapters missing. I just hope it will continue immediately, but we have to wait again... The only advice I would give to Holly and Cassandra is to release it as 1 book... In my opinion, the books work very well, but it could be better all-in-one. :)

Disappointing. The first two books I read in two days. I loved them. I hated the fact that I loved them, but they were interesting, and still engaging despite the reading level. I felt disconnected from everything in this book. Nothing to anchor you to the characters. The big villain reveal for the book was pretty much recycled from the first one, and despite the surprise death at the end being a favorite character, I didn't feel anything for it. It was cheap. So predictable that I figured there was no way they'd do it. And unemotional.

I will probably read the next book to see how things go, but all in all, this was a complete waste of my time.

This book took a dark turn in the series

The book starts with the mystery who's trying to kill Call and the group trying to solve it.

And reveals many secrets regarding the big bad guy and all. And oh the ending... :(((

I quite enjoy this but still i have some issue cause there's just hit or miss moments to me

At times this book was better than the earlier ones and at other times it wasn't as good, there was lots of twists and turns and shocking discoveries. But other aspects just would bug me, how 3 preteen kids could do so much and not a single adult batted an eye, how time goes from one book to another, each book is a different school year and there doesn't seem to be a break. The events of the new year contain glimpses of the summer break as though a full year was completed but the time of the book barely feels like weeks not a full 8-10 months. Little things like that didn't jive for me, but otherwise can't wait for the next one and neither can my son.
