I love books about con artists. This one is seen from the victim’s perspective. The story itself is a bit repetitive, but cons usually have a specific playbook. I loved how the women’s stories all intersected in the end.

This book was very clever, from a different perspective and I think it was well executed. The lost points are only because I'm not sure I "enjoyed" it because I was always frustrated or angry at the actions of the main character. Luckily, I was hiking up a mountain and used this anger to fuel me! The audiobook reading was great, Armitage did a great job and I sometimes even believed his lies before coming to my senses. What a stressful existence-lies, manipulation, alternate storylines, begging for money etc. And I wanted the reckoning so bad!

I enjoyed this read a lot. It was a bit hard to follow in the beginning with all the different relationships but it all becomes clearer. The conclusion didn’t blow me away but overall I liked all the twisted and turns and how all the pieces were tied together.
