So good but such a disappointing ending. Feels incomplete.

Dropped by 0.25 in the last 2 chapters.
I don’t think I like that Dylan admitted that he’s always been into Alice right at the end!! AND MIA DYING. Like I knew it was inevitable but I was hoping this was a story about cancer without a death cause I felt having her in hospital was enough of an exploration of Alice’s relationship with her.

This made the tone of the last chapter feel a bit distant from the rest of the book, which is hard for a book that’s really no plot, only vibes.

This Canadian debut just wasn’t for me. I couldn’t get invested in either the characters or the story but I did like that it revolved around two young women trying to be there for each through difficult times. The stream of consciousness style narration is one of my least favourites so that could have played a part too. Oh well...on to the next. This is definitely a case of it was me not you.
