I never thought I would dnf a book for having too much smut. But that's exactly what I've done. I was 350+ pages into this 700+ page book, and the plot was basically gone. Normally I wouldn't mind a pwp, but the smut was boring. It was also really long sections of only smut. Sometimes the same scene would go on for 3+ chapters.

It skipped around a lot for me. I wish the transitions were smoother.

Honestly skimmed the last chapter and skipped the epilogue. I didn’t know a book could have too much fucking but I think this one had too much fucking.

I have no desire to go back to this. Not enough plot for how long it is.

Long story short - Charlie finds her ex cheating on her with her friend, gets an opportunity to go to Scotland and goes. It’s basically 90+ chapters of just smut and no substance. It doesn’t seem like the author has ever been to Scotland, because how she describes Scotland…it could literally be anywhere in the world. The first like 5 chapters have some semblance of a story, and the last 5 chapters… but after this dreaded divorce she’s so nervous to go through takes a measly half chapter in the book and her ex all of a sudden wants her back… it’s just… smutty garbage.

Turn your brain off for this one, or better yet… just read any other why choose.

Definitely just a written porno, but somehow I did read all these pages and enjoyed it. Plot is minimal and
confrontation with her family and ex is very short, but I didn't mind since that's besides the point
. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone really, unless they wanted something just mind-blowingly hot because every mainstream fetish I could think of is in here, and while the plot is nil, the character development wasn't bad.

Lots of potential and some good writing that unfortunately fell a bit flat with under developed plot and slightly repetitive sex.

This definitely hit the spot for me for what I was in the mood for. That being said I think this could have definitely done with some editing and better pacing. Charlie’s divorce was such a huge part of this story that I feel like it wasn’t given enough time on the page when it actually happened. Additionally, I feel like we could have cut some smut scenes to allow for room to address the divorce as well as the issues she has in her relationship with her mother. Again, a resolution that seemed way too rushed and easily resolved. That being said, I loved the exploration of their sexual relationship and how each person this relationship found something new about themselves. I do wish we got to fully understand who they were before meeting Charlie because it felt like we were being told than shown that side of their life. Overall, I had a fun time reading this and enjoy the side characters enough that I look forward to their future books as well.
