This book is very well written, but it moves at a snail's pace. It started getting more interesting, maybe about 2/3 of the way through. There are over 500 pages to this book. I really had to force my way through the first part. I do, however, understand the need for a slow pace at the beginning. There are many different characters the story follows, and it takes place in a big world that needs lots of world building. I love the concept of the story, and I have a feeling that the next book is going to move much faster and have more action like the last part of this book did. I am looking forward to reading the rest of this series!
