FTC DISCLAIMER: I RECEIVED AN E-ARC FROM THE PUBLISHER THROUGH ONE OF A VARIETY OF SOURCES. I VOLUNTARILY OFFER MY HONEST REVIEW OF THE BOOK, THOUGH IT IS NOT EXPECTED OF ME! RECEIPT OF THIS BOOK IN THIS MANNER DOES NOT AFFECT MY OPINION OF THE BOOK OR THE CONTENT OF MY REVIEW!

I'd read a couple of this author's works, several years ago, and I remember being favorably impressed with how much of an enjoyable read they were, especially since I enjoy the Rock Star Romance trope. This one fell a bit short of that mark.

I had a really hard time connecting with Gillian, but also with Vaughan. As such, I couldn't invest in their relationship. I think the biggest hurdle to overcome for me was Gillian's distant nature. She wasn't a warm and caring person to me, she felt very robotic in general. Vaughn felt like an attention whore at times, but he was also the redeeming factor in the book, with how much emotion he showed and his attitudes about relationships, in spite of being a rock star.

It also felt like it took me forever to get through this book! The first 60% of the book was extremely slow moving to me, and the buildup on the relationship didn't pay off like I had hoped it would. The remainder of the book was the best part for me!

This has left me questioning if this is an author for me or not. I can tell I wasn't a good fit for the book based on how many others enjoyed it, but I will definitely be looking at reading other books of the author's, to see if this was just a miss one time for me or not.

Vaughan Hale may have been drunk when he sent a post out on the internet about his now ex-best friend and guitarist sleeping with his now ex-girlfriend but his post picked up momentum and now everyone is talking about it. Now the lead singer of White Trash Circle has been offered a lot of money to do something he really doesn't want to do but like they say, money talks.

Gillian Duzan believes that Vaughan has talent but also knows if he messes up again she is at risk to lose everything that she has been working towards at Domination Records.

Can Gillian turn Vaughan around and find the love in his music again before he loses everything?

This was such a good book from start to finish and I never wanted to put it down.

Right from the beginning you knew you were in for a heck of a ride filled with lots of laughs and some more serious moments and then some hot romance!!

I thought Vaughn was awesome and his social media post was awesome although I felt bad for Nico. I was shocked at how much the band was offered and I was totally not surprised that things turned out the way they did considering everything happened so fast. I loved that Nico stood by Vaughan through everything and that their friendship stayed strong through it all.

I really liked Gillian in that she was more "human" with everything going on and wanted Vaughan to be a success and knew he had the talent to be. Yet Gillian risked a lot by following her own heart with what she wanted to happen as Domination Records was controlled by her father.

I absolutely loved with Gillian and Emily put together and how much it shocked Vaughan and Nico. I laughed so hard and it turned out so perfect!

The "relationship" between Vaughan and Gillian was interesting as one of them didn't want anybody to know and it unfortunately caused some strain between them. My heart started breaking for Vaughan as I hated that he found something and got it taken away again.

The end was absolutely awesome and I really hope we get a book with Nico next!!

Not the most original story or characters, but I had my fair share of fun. White Trash Circus is falling apart and hitting the spotlight simultaneously. Vaughan, the lead singer of this small town rock bad, makes a shocking announcement that has sent thousands of fans in a frenzy. But on his worst day, Gillian comes in. An executive at a record label, known for her icy stare and cold tone, Gillian decides to redeem Vaughan and set him back to his rightful place.

Gillian and Vaughan's chemistry is instant but a bit less intense than what I had imagined. Vaughan is broody but also very charming and has his way with words. Gillian is stern but melts into a puddle upon Vaughan's gaze. It was mostly Vaughan who kept the dialogues interesting and fun. Their secret relationship, the subsequent hardships, and the climax felt rushed though.

Vaughan is vulnerable and Gillian plays the part of the savior in a very mature way. Similarly, Vaughan helps Gillian get back her confidence and not care about the people who judge her harshly for her looks, clothes or talent. They compliment each other quite well and that stood out for me.

'Viral' has its fair share of drama, hilarious moments, lots of adorable romance, and a couple who can hold our attention.

DNF @ 85%. I started reading something else and wasn’t bothered to go back to this since I didn’t really care about the characters and couldn’t feel the romance.
