I feel like everything I said about The Sword of Summer applies to this one as well: it was enjoyable, but formulaic (like most of Rick Riordan's books post Heroes of Olympus).

The only difference was that the characters frustrated me bit, which made me rate it slightly lower than the first book. It wasn't a big problem; just annoying enough to somewhat sour the experience. Didn't hinder me from immediately borrowing the finale from libby tho.

Ok, hear me out, but I like LOVED Alex from the first time I saw she/him. Also I like having a gender fluid person in the mix, let’s shake it up! Plus I love her sas and totally ship her/him and Magnus. I mean I think, when they, if they become a thing, I feel like they’d just radiate sas and sarcasm. I just love it. Can’t to finish up book three and see how there relation ship is going and if there’s a thing going on. Heard they kiss in that book and I’m So x1 million excited!!!!!!!

I will admit, the main I love this book more is because of Alex. I'm genderfluid, so that representation means the world to me. But it's also just a fun read.

I really enjoyed how Rick incorporated transgender people into this.

Great sequel to sword of summer, loved the characters especially new characters like Alex. I loved the action of this book and how the mystery was revealed.
