More Annabeth.
Sword flirting.
A gender-fluid demigod.
A sheep in therapy.
I mean, how could I not give it 5 stars?

Omggggg that ending. Need the next one now. I think Alex is among my favorite characters with Hearthstone. The plot was lacking just a LITTLE bit. I love this book series. Come here Percy…

This was just.... So. Boring.
I don't get it. Riordan knew how to handle pacing and structure in PJO, and most of the time in the Kane Chronicles and HoO. And yet Magnus is a disaster so far. The comedic timing is also horrendous, and the norse mythology is poorly handled. In PJO I was excited about my favorite gods appearing; in Magnus Chase I'm afraid of them appearing because Riordan is going to insult them, and then he does.
And the main characters... Magnus is useless, Jack was the best character in the first book and now he's suddenly the worst, and Samirah is great but she is pretty secondary. The stuff with Amir was cute but not enough to change my whole opinion on the book. The main thing I liked about this book is Alex and she wasn't even in half of it. I was going to give it 1.5 or 2 stars for Alex, Sam and Amir, but then I got to one scene in the end that pissed me off so I can't do it anymore.
