I prob will never read it again, but it’s got a certain cultural literacy aspect and the story was wonderful.  Far more intriguing and gratifying than I had anticipated.

I finished this book a couple of days ago and have not really though much about it, but this may be due to the fact that I read it intermittently. The writing in this book is phenomenal and I greatly prefer the book to the movie…. If you’re looking for a book with strong warnings of political, religious, and intellectual power then this is perfect!

Dune is a stunning marvel of deep politics and deeper humanity taking place on the stage of an incredible world where the underprivileged Arrakis natives are also the most powerful resource known to man. Their fervent respect of water and life, as well as the strength of their beliefs (or disbeliefs, depending which side of religion they fall on) are instrumental in building this epic tale with a touching personal connection. This read almost like Game of Thrones, but even more approachable.

And listen, the movies did a phenomenal job committing to the content of this book. I strongly recommend it!

Solid, the last chapter or two felt like they dragged a little bit. Very cool world building, and also I really appreciate the casting choices for the movie.
