This book, i mean damnnn, Neil has a wat with words. Even though I was already familiar with most of the stories it still felt new and fresh to me, largely due to it being put in a kind of chronological order if you will. And the ending is still true to Gaiman fashion. Loved it

This was wonderful. Before going in, I didn't know much about Norse mythology, so I was learning many of these myths for the first time. Some of the stories are humorous, others tragic or frustrating, but they are all wildly entertaining. Gaiman writes in succinct, direct prose, which, for me, helped the book feel more authentically like an old myth, or even a prophesy in some cases. I listened to the audiobook, which I highly recommend.

Gaiman tells Norse Mythology like a series of short stories. Filled with vivid characters, some you may be very familiar with thanks to Marvel -- Loki, Thor, Odin. Engaging storytelling. Recommend on audiobook. It's read by the author and the voice acting for each character is fantastic.

A delightful bedtime retelling of myths well-known, and more obscure.

The position of storyteller of myths benefits Gaiman, and his method of writing excels in these short-form stories. They benefit from his approchable writing, and good-humored nature.

I quite honestly just wish it was longer. It felt far too short, but I realize the constraints of the material he was working off of - so much of it has been lost.

I cannot wait to start reading these to my daughter.

I enjoyed reading this book but the stories contained are rewritten from other works. I remember reading many of these stories when I was very young. I was nice to revisit the gods. The book is fairly short but tells the story from how they began until their end.

I liked this a book. It was an introduction into North mythology for me. I really enjoyed the way Niel gamen told the stories and it gave me insight into things. I wondered and things I wanted to know I really like how each story had its own lesson and it's on purpose and I really like how it all tied up together in the end it took me awhile as I sometimes did find it a little boring however it was one of them boring reads where I enjoyed the slowness of it. I read a story here and there when I felt in the mood for a little storytelling moment.
