Amazing book. I think someone perfectly described it as the love letter to Superman the character.

To start off I don’t read Superman graphic novels because I find the character to be somewhat boring because he is for the most part too superpowered. However here in my first read of a Superman graphic novel this 12 part issue kinda changed my opinion. It comes across as a love letter to the character and I’m all for that.
Superman here has a really great relationship with Lois Lane here and that part I really enjoyed reading.
I really like the fact that this is an out-of-continuity “Elseworlds” story set during the final days of Superman. I’ve never cared for true continuity especially with graphic novels and movies. All I care about is a strong well told stand alone story and All-Star Superman provided me with that.
It took a few issues but I grew on the art style of Frank Quitely. By the end of the read I adored the panels. I did however find their faces to be odd.
Also I’m reading the DC Compact edition and you know I like saving space on the shelf so this suits me. The size is good and I hope they do more of these in the future. I might just start collecting them.
