This was such an easy book to read. Light, fun and swoony along with all the questions an 18 year old has about life.

I wish I could have read this when I was 17! Highly recommend for high school seniors or juniors.

The audio narration was terrific too. I often struggle with Australian accents but this one was perfect!

It's a good depiction of the thoughts of a very insecure teenager, but there isn't much character development. There is NO CHEMISTRY between the main couple, absolutely none!! Might have enjoyed this more if I read it when I was 16.

Very cringe-y teenager

It was fine. Accurate depiction of the crippling embarrassment of being an adolescent, especially one with difficult skin. I appreciated an Australian coming of age story which felt closer to home than stories about living from American small towns. It is a difficult period of life involving much change and uncertainty. At that age it feels as though you’re the only person finding it difficult which is not the case. The flirtation in the build up to the relationship stage was delightful, I only wish there was more of it. Perhaps an unfair criticism of a young adult book but the writing felt very juvenile. Maybe I’m just getting old.

First Line:

First of all, I love the title of this novel, because honestly we're mostly in Natalie's head, and that place might seem tiresome and overlapped with overthinking to some people, but it reminded me of being in my own head.

In this novel, Natalie is trying to grasp everything that's happening to her: her parents are getting divorced, her two best friends (and only friends) are in relationship with each other and she feels left out, she's waiting to find out if she got into college, she's dealing with a lot of body and confidence issues, and she's trying to understand relationships when she becomes suddenly involved with someone. I related to her overthinking and the scenarios she kept making in her mind. I've suffered and still suffer from lack of confidence on many bad days, and I'd loved to have read this book in my teenage years.

The chapter headings are hilarious and the writing style is so fresh and easy and once again, hilarious. I think I won't be exaggerating if I said that this author has become one of my new favorite YA authors. I really needed a book like this and I thank netgalley for the arc and the chance to read it!
