I’ve never seen such a one dimensional, western focused book. What even was the point of telling this story… like if you want to show the perspective of the Air Force, sure but is it so much to ask for to have a lil nuance god

Scott does a brilliant job of describing the Firebombing of Tokyo. From Japanese build up to being the leader of the Asian world by any means possible to the US's unfaltering pummeling of Japan. James Scott takes us on a journey how a man like LeMay, the technology of napalm and the BOMB mixed to provide such a one-sided violent ending. Again, brilliant!!

This book was truly horrifying. It reinforces the idea that humans are awful to each other. I really appreciated the detailed storytelling of this time period, but it isn't something to be entered into lightly.
