I think the author was trying to start off the book with a cool, mysterious vibe, introducing the mc’s day-to-day work in his job. But it made the intro quite messy and boring, there were so many names thrown around and Stillwell (mc) was tryna act cool during his search warrant.

I’m loving this whole thing Michael Connelly has going on with law enforcement officers/detectives being punished and banished. Because ultimately the good ones will always make an impression and will excel at their jobs.
This was a quick read. Enjoyed it for what it is and didn’t have many expectations except for a good crime thriller that takes place where my husband first fell in a little bit of love with me.
If you are a fan of Lee Child, James Patterson, and John Sanford you will be a fan of Michael Connelly.
