I went in with higher expectations for this book. It was a lot more convoluted than it needed to be. Kept waiting for the climax and things to straighten off. Didn't really connect with the main character.

I was entertained enough, and the narrator did a good job, but I will say the Bosch and Ballard books/series are superior
I’ll possibly read more when they come out, but I won’t necessarily rush

This was a great start to a series with a new detective! I could not read the book fast enough and I’m all in on Stilwell! The plot, his dedication, the colleague dynamics and no soapy romance but definitely a relationship with real challenges. Can’t wait til the next one!!
