Wake, butterfly - it's late, we've miles to go together
That's my favorite line from this collection of Haikus from the famous poet of the Edo period. It affected me so much that I'm considering on printing it and hang it on my wall. So if you are a fan of Haiku, then this one shouldn't be missed

I think I'm too dumb for this. But it sounded pretty.

This was nice, and there were a handful of haikus I liked but none of them really spoke to my soul.

Classic haiku poet. I don't think I really understand haiku. But I know Matsuo Basho known or considered as greatest haiku poet. I don't know if this translation did justice to the japanese version, but pretty sure it will be much lovelier in original version, well someone needs to at least learn japanese to prove that huh. Overall, I love how it talks about flowers, weather and the changing of seasons. It's like a story that complement each other. But hey, haiku and poetry will always be subjective, whether it is a hit or a miss right?

This is my first try on Japanese Haiku, I'm not sure what is it about, is it about time? Is it about love? Or is it about poverty? I'm really lost. It was easy to read literally, but I need time to think more on Haikus and poetry and I want to read more, especially Japanese literature! 2.5 stars!
