I found it a bit slow in the beginning, but it definetly picks up the pace and couldnt put it down towards the end. I feel it gives a realistic (if harsh) depiction of the reality of medicine and how challenging (mentally and physically) it can be, especially when the system is not rigged in your favor. I found comfort in finding something mirroring many of my own frustrations, especially at crossroads in my medical careeer. Would reccomend to anyone interested in the field (in and outside), definetly worth w read (beware: some tears were shed during the reading)

I really appreciated reading Yumiko Kadota's story, particularly after reading male doctor's experiences and wondering about women's experiences. Very easy to understand, thanks to Yumiko's explanations of any complicated healthcare terms. Yumiko's kindness was amazing to hear about.

I think I read this at just the right time. This is a great memoir which covers the stigma of mental health, being an 'international student' and the many systemic issues within the Australian healthcare system.

I devoured this memoir by Dr Kadota. It is accessible, generous, and revealing of the Australian hospital system's treatment of junior doctors.
