This debut cozy fantasy had no right to be so adorable. It was precisely what I needed to read. I loved every moment and devoured it.

From the beginning you could tell that Calder desired Meira but kept his distance and was respectful. He came to her rescue when she was in danger. He was her friend first going as far to protect her from an unwanted matchmaking posing as her lover. This false relationship grows as the connection between them and their magic became more apparent. Their passion is well written and feels so real. The story is heartwarming and gave me butterflies. I’m a sucker for a cozy love story with a happy ending. I wish I could read it for the first time again!

This is the book equivalent a warm, gentle hug.
I resonated so much with Miera and her struggles to do everything on her own over the course of the story.
Calder is a paragon book boyfriend: kind, gentle and always looking out for others.
The title really is perfectly descriptive of the story. It's all about finding the magic in the little things, the ordinary day-to-day things, and the quiet moments. This is definitely a tale I will read over and over again.

I wanted to love this book, but I ended up just liking it. It has all the elements for a good story, the writing is descriptive….until it’s not. The characters seem to have depth…until they don’t. I think the first half of the book set it up to head one direction and then after a pivotal moment between the main characters it just kind of fizzled into a ‘now we’re both sad and not speaking’ vibe. There were several times an interesting hint was dropped that never had any payoff (like who was Calder before he came to town and why doesn’t he want to talk about it?)
