I love the world the author has built - an alternate version of New York where angels create vampires and rule like fae. The MCs, Elena and Raphael, are one of my fave literary couples now! I love how their relationship evolves in this book. They are both strong but flawed. They both contribute to the relationship and care about making the other one better. They are equally jealous, which is silly after all they’ve been through, but I’ll allow it because I adore them. Plus Raphael hits all my book bae requirements and then some!

Excellent. Fast-paced, exciting, sexy, modern, yet mythological and otherworldly. Not your average romance. In fact, more like an ass-kicking story with a dash of romance (and smoking-hot sensuality). Loved the lead characters (Elena and Raphael), but I also loved how the author set the stage for future books, featuring the different characters, all of whom are intriguing and alluring in their own unique ways. And I can't wait to read all of their stories.

In short, once again, Nalini Singh has hit it out of the ballpark with an amazing series.
