I'm curious to know whether this author always writes this way or if she took some risks in this book. The general approach feels mildly unhinged. I feel like the main character just rambles on and on and she's a little too victim for me, but I can see how or why we might be able to relate to her in some ways. It seems unlikely, but perhaps I'd appreciate this more at a different stage in life.

A contemporary commentary on a millennial looking down the barrel of a divorce she’s not sure she wants, and the breakdown that follows.
As is trendy with these types of books at the moment, the characters in this book aren’t particularly likeable. This is normally a red flag for me but there was enough self-debasing humour to hold my interest.

this is like if someone gathered everything that’s makes a millennial, a millennial, and wrote it into a book. not that that’s can’t be good, but this isn’t.

Maggie got on my damn nerves. second hand embarrassment is not my thing & that’s all I felt during this story. I used this book as a palate cleanser from dark thrillers. So I’ll give it credit for shifting the mood. I laughed almost as much as I cringed
PS….we all know a Maggie & if you don’t you’re probably the Maggie

it’s nice to know that there are worse ways to handle a breakup than how i am handling mine
