I always love books by Daniel Hurst! They are such quick, easy and entertaining reads - this was no different! I devoured this within a few hours. Towards the end, the twists had be so surprised! I had some ideas, that the book pointed to and them wow!! Such a reveal! I loved this book and highly recommend!!

I received this book from NetGalley, I have read a few of Daniel Hurst’s book. This one started a bit slow for me. It took me awhile to get into it.
About 30% in was when the story started getting better. It started to become the page turner I remembered from previous books.
I was able to figure out who the murderer was pretty early on, but I still had fun reading the plot twist unfold. The book definitely gives you an anxious feeling and of course there was some heavy details such as suicide and bullying so you definitely want to keep that in mind before picking up this book.
I felt the book was decent and I’m happy I read it.

This is family drama turned thrilling mystery. Told from dual narrators, Sara and Guy as they get embroiled in an escalating fight about protecting their family. It ultimately made me think about what measures would I go to protect mine. I had recently read another social issues type book about how one incident, while simple in the other book but much more daunting in this one, could start an escalating spiral.
While I normally think of this author’s books at entertaining popcorn thrillers, this one had a little more of a social message buried in it. It could work for both book clubs and buddy reads as the group discusses what is acceptable and where do you draw the line. But don’t worry if you too love those popcorn thrillers because this one delivers some shock along with getting you to think.
I can’t decide if I liked the characters in the book, but I did empathize with them and their situation. And I felt all the spectrum of emotions. I felt sad for the family, was mad at the authorities that at times seemed inactive when you consider the kids involved, and shocked at that last twist.
If you want a thought provoking domestic thriller, look no further than this one.

This is described as a "jaw-dropping, psychological thriller," which is always something that will catch my interest but it really didn’t deliver in that respect. I love a good psychological thriller but this really fell short. I found the story boring and extremely drawn out. The plot was dull and really lacked the fast pace and twists and turns along the way. It was a little unbelievable in certain aspects which took from the overall plot. The characters aren't memorable and not overly likeable. There was no real build up and the reveals that did come about just fell flat. Unfortunately this one just wasn’t for me.

The Couples revenge by Daniel Hurst is another fabulous read. The author never disappoints and always with his trademark twist at the end.
Sarah and Guy have a happy life and will do anything for their children Amber and Jacob. So, when Jacob comes home from school and uncharacteristically goes straight to his room without stopping for anything to eat. Like he usually does. Jacob is a happy friendly child but not today.
Sarah knows that there is something wrong, but Jacob doesn’t want to talk to her. So, she asks Guy to come home from work and speak to him. But when husband Guy finds bruises on Jacob and find out that it is a boy called Mason Cross. All he want to do is seek revenge.
This story is every parent’s nightmare and very relevant to what happens today. This is twisty and emotional thriller, and you can feel the frustration between Sarah and Guy when they find out that their son has been bulled. But the Police are not seeming to do anything. I couldn’t put this book down. I read this in a day. I highly recommend. 5 stars from me.
The Couples Revenge by Daniel Hurst
Thank you Netgalley for giving me an ARC of this book! I was so excited that I got approved for a Daniel Hurst Book he is one of my favorite authors currently !!
I love the change of perspective between both parents; Sara and Guy. I love getting in their brain and knowing their perspectives of the events that are taking place, and how they understand what is happening to their son Jacob. I definitely couldn’t not put the book down once I started. The book kept me completely immersed.
I feel like a lot of parents will relate to this book. It shows how far parents will go to protect their children. I felt the book twisted and turned and I did not expect the ending whatsoever . It was completely different from what I was imagining. As always I loved Daniel Hursts books! I highly recommend this book to any thriller lover !!
