Fun sports romance. This author is consistent.
This book is a Fated Mates podcast rec. Sarah MacLean said this series is totally bonkers and totally bingeable - and she was not wrong! This book literally starts with the hero and heroine surviving a fucking plane crash. Bonkers! The image on the cover and the title: bonkers. But from the start, I was totally hooked and enjoyed the shit out of the whole thing. I've recently read a bunch of romance books that I found super boring and, say what you will about this book, it was not boring at all. It was fun, it was sexy, it was surprisingly emotional at times, there is an attempted murder... What more could I want to get myself out of a reading slump? Do I think this book would be everyone's cup of tean? No. But it was a 5 star read for me.

This book is unrealistic, has many over-the-top moments and more twists and turns than a roller coaster. Most of the side characters are frustrating and nonsensical, each one making terrible decisions and/or resembling a cartoon villain.
With that being said, I adored the MMC and FMC and their story. There's chaos around them, but I enjoyed the development of their relationship. The MMC trusts the FMC early on and never waivers in his trust. The FMC supports the MMC and has his back throughout everything.
The main characters have great chemistry and their journey is engaging. If you can suspend disbelief regarding the external conflicts in this story, the romance itself is lovely. I'm giving this five stars because that's just how much I adored these characters.
