Took some interesting twists who I liked but also got a little put a bow on it with the ending.
Needed more

I’ll preface everything I’m about to say with the fact that, despite my criticisms, I had a fun time at the very least. So if someone wants a mindless, somewhat insane read, this would work well for that.
This book was … not great. The plot wandered, picking up and dropping new lines all along the way, ESPECIALLY in the second half. The conflicts for the most part felt overly contrived, usually seeming to come about just for the sake of there being a conflict period. I also noticed some technical errors where the writing tense would change for a line or two all throughout the book. But you know, good for Rory, good for Max, and good for the pizza guy.

Started strong with the plane crash but I was annoyed by the end. I did like the broken hero MMC. However I never fell in love with the FMC who flip flopped between being strong and having no back bone.

So I started off really enjoying this book and then towards the end it started going off the rails a little bit for what I expected out of a hockey romance.

The romance part between Rory and Max was a very cute story. Them having to resist each other until they absolutely could not any longer was amazing to read.

The ending was just a little too dramatic for my liking in a contemporary story. Sexual assault, kidnapping, etc. it was just too much in one story and took away from what the story was really about. The characters and their growth from the beginning to the end.

So while I enjoyed the story and Max and Rory’s relationship there was just too much going on throughout.
