The first page; you know, the description one with a blurb from the book; in my book gave a lot away. I would recommend not reading it. So, pretending I didn't read that particular page: The story did not progress as you thought it should, but was somehow still a bit predictable. I did enjoy it.
I liked this book pretty well, but elements of it bothered me. Some of the writing sounded like it wasn't edited right, and bits of the way the story went kind of bothered me. All in all, though, I thought it went well. Would have liked to see more of the bad guy.
It was a good book, I enjoyed it. Though it had a lot of plot drop offs. It seemed too short, and convenient. But I enjoyed it as a quick read!
This was a retelling of The Little Mermaid that started with a great deal of promise and then went completely off the rails. We had a lot of love at first sight, agreeing to marry each other after knowing the other person for less than a week, a convoluted murder plot, and the most anticlimactic defeat of a villain that has ever been written.
I really liked this one! it was a very good story/twist for the Little Mermaid and the ending was pretty good. A little slow here and there, but other than that, it was good. interesting, but good.
- There a few things that were under developed. This book had a lot of potential, and I think if it had been longer and had more content, it would have been really great.
- I enjoyed most of the characters. Pearl lived a simple life, and I think a lot of girls could relate to her. I feel like James's character could have been better. He was kinda fickle and I couldn't figure him out.
- I really liked that it was the classic Little Mermaid story, but with a few twists in it. It also has a happy ending. No one ends up as seas foam!
- I wish there had been more about Pearl's past, and more of a foundation for her relationship with Kale.
- Overall, this was a cute and fun read, but I just wanted more info.
