I had a god time reading this book. Reading from Apollo's preceptive was funny and entertaining. I liked the snarking between Meg and Apollo.

I feel like the cast of characters was quite the downgrade from the first two series. I liked the side characters and reoccurring demigods well enough, but Apollo was so insufferable, I hope he'll have grown as a person in the second book.

Also it feels like nothing happened until the big showdown? Feels like a more solid way of storytelling than the previous books, which were like video game quests, but I don't like change so it was weird to not have a bunch of little adventures.

Still liked the book tho

I thubk this was one of the weaker Percy Jackson books, I found Apollo to be a little too much, for lack of a better word. I think if Rick toned him down a bit in the beginning I'd have rated the book higher.

All in all, this was still quite enjoyable. And Apollo does get less...less as the book goes on.
I am confused by the word 'BRAZIL' becoming a magic word. Like, could you jmagjne if someone said AMERICA!! When casting magic? Lol [All might from my hero academia I guess]

Highly entertaining! I'm not that deep into Riordans works, but I had enough knowledge about previous books to understand this one in the context of the ongoing events. I liked Apollo as the protagonist, because he is hilariously insufferable a lot of the time. On that note: It makes sense that he is obsessed with his looks, but I didn't really enjoy the unnecessary body shaming commentary that came with it. Besides that it was very fun to be in the thoughts of a god struggling to come to terms with human realities.
