I feel like the cast of characters was quite the downgrade from the first two series. I liked the side characters and reoccurring demigods well enough, but Apollo was so insufferable, I hope he'll have grown as a person in the second book.

Also it feels like nothing happened until the big showdown? Feels like a more solid way of storytelling than the previous books, which were like video game quests, but I don't like change so it was weird to not have a bunch of little adventures.

Still liked the book tho

I really enjoyed this book! It was a little more slow paced than the PJO and Heroes of Olympus series, but was still really good.

This book is so much fun, and I totally see why everyone loves Rick Riordan. I'll be reading many more of his books in the future, but I want to wait a bit to savor them. What a beautiful book for young folks to read with nary a terf in sight.

I really, really didn’t like Apollo. I will probably still read the rest of the series, though. Out of all the Rick Riordan books I’ve read, this book was definitely my least favorite. I liked Meg. I also liked seeing Nico, Will, Percy, and Leo.
