Plot driven, light on characterization. So light that all the male characters could've been the same white man.
Pretty standard fare for a historical mystery. Petty, self-absorbed people in Hollywood. The only thriller moments: bricks thrown thru windows, a head bashing fight at the end.
Bisexual and gay representation.Annie was in a poly relationship that was completely toxic and codependent. I couldn't wait for her to get away from them. Vic spent years a lovesick puppy for Henry, being the mastermind behind Henry's entire fraudulent career. Also toxic and codependent.
It was a fun, quick read. Recommend the audiobook.
