A good sequel. I thought Julie's character development was a bit eh. Ülga is great! I also really liked the queen. She was pretty cool. The art is nice, with pretty colors (especially as I'm used to the black and white pages of manga). I enjoyed this, but liked the first one better. I would still recommend reading it for the conclusion to the story, especially as it's only two volumes total. 3.5 stars.

I enjoyed this installment. It was fun, and the art was great. I was a little disappointed in the story, though, which seemed a little generic and too-neatly tied together at the end.

Still a lot of fun, but unfortunately wraps up very fast. It goes from a slow growth of character development to abrupt shifts. I LIKE all the shifts, I just kept missing the beginnings of them.

Even more kickass than the first. Princess Ülga is a true leader and just the right kind of bloodthirsty.

This second half of the collected Princess Ugg comics (#5-#8) does a lovely job of interrogating the question of who are the barbarians, and the values of different types of diplomacy. I love the way that the friendships between the various young women are investigated, as well as the subtle investigation of the question of who is the outsider.

While I believe that the target audience would be late primary aged kids, there is lots for the adult reader to appreciate.

Some exciting twists and turns in this one! I really enjoyed it and the character development.
