So so SO good! Twisty and nerve-wracking! The present story of several coworkers trapped in an elevator intertwines nicely with the flashbacks on how each of them got this point in their lives. Actions have consequences, and sometimes things come back from the grave to haunt you.
Only complaint is that once you know what’s really going on, the story wraps up without the action going into as much detail as previously. But that’s ok because I really like how everything worked out lol. Highly recommend this book.

This book was addictive and had me on the edge of my seat. It is not my normal read, but I seriously enjoyed it. I can't wait to see what's next from Megan. She has definitely become an author I will be reading more from.

It’s a very fast read for sure, you will be slightly intrigued. The prose is very matter fact. I preferred the dialogue between characters because the narrator felt a little repetitive and monotonous. I did not like it but I enjoyed reading it (tis confusion)
Graphic: Sexual assault and Sexual harassment
Moderate: Suicide, Death of parent, and Murder
Minor: Sexism and Vomit

This was okay. Took a little long to get anywhere but it was entertaining at least.
The Escape Room begins with a group of co-workers ordered to participate in a team-building exercise that requires them to escape from a locked elevator. Dark secrets are revealed and the biggest mystery is: what happened to fellow co-worker Sara Hall?
This is a book filled with awful characters being awful at each other, and it was pretty spicy. Most of this book is told from a POV a couple years before, with only small chapters of everyone in the locked elevator. It was interesting to see how things started from the beginning to how they ended up in the elevator of death but damn, it took SO long.
So much of the book is just a bunch of investment bankers being super sexist and gross for a million pages and it just annoyed me. There are things that I just have no interest in reading about and boring rich investment bankers being nasty toward women is one of them. A couple of the male characters were so forgettable I couldn't even tell them apart besides how they all sucked.
Besides that, the past POV started to get really interesting in the last half and it was still pretty tense to see how things happened. But getting caught in a dark and hot elevator with a bunch of douchebags who won't stop bitching is my worst nightmare, thanks.
The ending could have been stronger but like I said, this book was still entertaining. I was never checking my audiobook to see how much time was left and I was engaged the whole time so I'm not mad about it. I just wish it wasn't so slow to get there.

Really enjoyed learning about the different characters at their team building meeting and how they reacted to being trapped in the elevator together. I like how the story went backward in time to validate why the team building was necessary and introduced some other key characters to the story. Very creative game that was played out, I didn't think it would end that way. I don't want to give any spoilers, but I wonder if there will be a sequel. I hope so!

This was a solid 3.80 stars for me rounded up to 4. It was definitely an enjoyable read, but I would have loved to see more action going down. I did however enjoy it and I do recommend picking it up.
