So heart achingly beautiful but still laugh out loud funny in the way only Abby Jimenez can write. Every Abby Jimenez book I pick up is my new favorite and this one was no exception.

it was, as the librarian told me, mid. a long distance relationship is a new for me in romance books. it was cute but some dialogue and scenes were typical of wattpad stories? i also got annoyed by there always being issues with the relationship but only on her side

As someone who is married to the person she was in a long-distance relationship for over two years, this really hit home. The feelings Abby Jimenez captured and the absolute magic and bittersweetness of being together brought back so many memories to me. It was a beautiful story, with depth, lovable characters, and seemingly impossible circumstances to overcome. As always, Abby Jimenez captures another beautiful love story.

No. No no no no no.

You’re telling me that I just read a book that contains:

- an unhealthy codependent relationship where they don’t communicate
- an apologist view on ignoring the wishes of a disabled individual
AND
- an apologist view on cheating on your disabled spouse

Then the author tries to wrap it up in the guise of a super romantic love story. Emphasis on tries.

I found myself bored by both characters, thinking they just need to break up, and wondering why I was supposed to be surprised by
the dad cheating and not wanting to take care of the mom

It gets a 2 for some good banter moments but that’s it.

LOVED IT.  Could not put it down. I love the thought and effort both put into the relationship even though they each had nothing. The relationship between the family members was spot on as well and played a nice part in breaking up the romantic longing.
I liked how the epilogue wasn't just "they got pregnant and lived happily ever after". I enjoyed hearing more about their mom and how they were working to keep her at home still. I loved the addition of Dr. Hank and how his friends helped the up and coming vet keep his business going, that was so heartwarming

I really want to love these books, but I don’t think Jimenez’s books are for me. Every now and then she’ll write a really emotional zinger of a sentence or explain an emotion beautifully. But overall the plots and characters are not enough for me. I don’t know how to explain it better than that. I’ve read a few of her books and I just always feel a bit unsatisfied after. And also sad. I appreciate the raw emotions but ultimately I think I’m just after a different type of writing style.
