Everything Abby Jimenez touches turns to gold. Beautiful stories, lovable characters with humor and depth. I loved this one as much as the Part of Your World trilogy. Was rooting for the characters the whole time.

TL;DR: It's probably best for audiences looking for romance with a heavier touch of angat/drama, or enjoyed watching tear-jerker romance movies like "A Walk to Remember."

I think someone has said the book reads more like contemporary fiction than a typical romance book, and I agree.

The main characters somehow fell in love instantly (despite the fact they never met each other for the 3 years they lived in the same city), and then the MMC constantly skirting the line of 'falling on the sword' in the relationship. The FMM I felt at times somewhat immature (though it could the age gap between myself and her), so I cannot really relate to her.

There is also a substantial amount of illness / medical trauma that I had not expected (I had read the warning, but it appears I underestimated).

There are also instances of animals in peril / implied animal cruelty (even most of the current instances they ended well).

I know this book was marketed as rom-com, but I feel it is more like a romantic drama.

All in all, it was an interesting read, but I felt I would have felt differently had I knew / understand better of amount of angst this book had in store.

⚠️”This book contains detailed descriptions of someone with advanced dementia. There’s mention of a cheating spouse and of a side character, mention of past child abuse both physical and emotional. Mention of animal abuse, cruelty, neglect, and death. There’s a scene where a dog is in peril. (The dog doesn’t die. The main character’s dog will NEVER die.) Sudden off-page death of a side character with a heart condition.”⚠️

Yes, I read this in LESS than 24 hours. I could not put it down. Abby did not disappoint. 👏

I literally laughed out loud and sobbed all within pages of each other. This is SO much more than a romantic comedy or romance story. To me? It honestly was more of a subplot. There were so many more important and truly impactful themes discussed in this book that took precedence. Truly an emotional read that I will never forget.

Highly recommend you add this to your tbr.

Who would you cast as Samantha?
-Lucy Hale

Who would you cast as Xavier?
-Matthew Daddario

Can this please be made into a movie or tv series? I am obsessed. 🥰💕

5⭐️ | 0.5🌶️

Did this book wreck me?✅
Were there at least five points throughout my reading where I ugly cried? ✅
Is there a picture of me after the last ugly cry? 🤷🏻‍♀️😬 that’s between me & Snapchat.
Did I love this book? 💯

This was a 5⭐️ read for me. I also had an immersive reading experience, reading the physical book while listening to the audiobook, possibly amplifying my emotional response. But also, life is happening and there are certain parts of the book that hit close to home.

I’ll share one of my favorite, non-spoilery quotes which helped bring on the feels:

“[T]here is nothing more beautiful than being a witness to someone’s life. To know them inside and out and be with them through everything, share the same memories. Memories are everything. I want that.”
