'Batgirl, Volume 3: Mindfields' has someone messing with Batgirl's mind. Can she figure it out before she loses it altogether?

The main story is about Batgirl losing her mind. She enlists friends to help her, including Black Canary, Bluebird, and Spoiler. She senses something is wrong when she can't remember recent events. It comes to a head when she finds herself betrayed by someone that is close to her. Can she stop the memory loss and get her life back>

The second story starts as Barbara Gordon's new energy company is starting up and she's decided to hang up the cape for a bit. The problem with that is when Gladius shows up and Batgirl is afraid her friends are in over their heads. She dons the cape again, but ends up making some big decisions about her life and business before it's all over.

I'm familiar with Batgirl, but I found these stories just ok. The art is pretty amazing, and I like the look of Batgirl and company. The second story just came across as a bit confusing to me. The fights happened and Batgirl made her choice and the whole thing just kind of lost me. There is a back up story that is mostly art with no dialogue and I actually liked this the best.

I received a review copy of this graphic novel from DC Entertainment and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this graphic novel.

The part where Batgirl thinks she is forgetting stuff and has to rely on other people remembering stuff resonated with me because my short term memory is maybe not my best quality?

I couldn't finish it. I'm tired. This series is awful, and here I was rooting for it. The art isn't even as enjoyable as it used to be. Cameron Stewart seemed really funny in person and I wondered if it might go downhill when I heard him making the excuse, "The format is too short to tell a compelling story". Odd, because we have plenty of comics in existence with smaller formats that have far more going on than Batgirl of Burnside. A lot of Bab's life is filler, and her personal life is bland af. Even if she weren't always acting like a ditz, it's a crappy, shallow life to read about. We don't need or want to constantly have it shoved in our faces to depress us further. The villains are so nonthreatening, and her dilemmas are so silly, it seems like it's for children. But the content is usually adult in nature, so the effect is just unpleasant and makes you wonder if Cameron Stewart is one of those guys who likes to infantilize women. It definitely had the same vibes as the Josie and the Pussycats comic reboot, so if you're into that kind of stilted, fever-dream pandering, you'll love this.

Ah! Again what an awesome volume! The 2 Comic books that I am looking out big time for is Batgirl and Ms.Marvel.

This volume again has incredible art by Babs Tarr and the story in this volume is particularly interesting because it exposes some of Batgirl's biggest weaknesses and shows how she can over come by putting more trust in her team and by pushing through the situation and overcoming it herself.

I hate to see all of these reviews that Batgirl is no longer intelligent. Honestly, it shows her intelligence and hard work in every volume. If you can't see that maybe you're too mad that she's taking selfies now. In this volume she is in charge of a clean energy company, come on! She is a great detective, has a good judge of character, and now runs a company that could be the next Wayne Enterprises. Barbara can easily become the successor to Batman. ~Ashley

No tan malo como el segundo volumen y un buen final abierto para Rebirth. No tengo mucho más que decir. A seguir adelante.

This volume continues the battle for Barbara Gordon's mind from volume 2, except this time she has enemies where she least expects it. While that plot line was action packed, and emotionally grabbing, I was disappointed that the creators recycled the same story, but with a different villain.

The second story arc of the volume proved to be a little more exciting while still connecting the previous storylines of the first two volumes, I was still bored with it. Normally I can finish a volume in a day or two, but this volume of Batgirl took me nearly two weeks to finish, because of how boring these storylines were. A lot happened, and a lot of badass characters were introduced and utilized in exciting ways, but overall I felt like much of this volume's plots was "been there, done that."

I'm hoping the next volume proves to be better. With DC having a rebirth of all their comics, there is that potential, but from rumors and discussions I have had with friends who are reading the current issues, I'm not placing too much hope in an improving storyline.

you know, it wouldn't have hurt this run to be a little bit less confusing. but the villains character designs are amazing and I just really really love Babs (Gordon and Tarr, honestly).

A sloppy end to such a great series. Hopefully the Rebirth Batgirl issues will be more put together.
