I am not a huge Dan Brown fan nor do I believe in Symbology. But the man can write an engrossing story! Perfect beach read.

Safe to say I am not a Brown fan. I can't stand the endless descriptions his books are filled with. This one is slightly better than Da Vinci Code but not great either (the only one I liked was Digital Fortress and it was probably just because it lacked all the history and art). I had to focus hard to finish the book and almost gave up couple times. Also, I just can't stand Robert Langdon being a smartass, mansplaining, and basically thinking less of women that he works with...

After not loving The Lost Symbol, I actually enjoyed Inferno quite a bit. I loved hearing about the centuries old buildings and art in Florence, Venice and Istanbul. Although the villain was twisted, he was much less repulsive those in past Robert Langdon stories. Also they got out of tight spots in ways that were far less farfetched than in the past. Glad I finally read it.

I really wanted to like this book. The historical and architectural descriptions were great, as was all of the information about Dante, but I really thought the story itself was weak. Disappointing, as the history parts were really enjoyable.

"Would you kill half the population today in order to save our species from extinction?"

I wanted to read the book because of two reasons: 1) It's Dan Brown's new Langdon book & I'm sure it'll be amazing. 2) There was an issue here in the Philippines about that bit regarding Manila but I personally cannot care any less because those things do happen, but not all the time of course.

It was a great book! I like how throughout the book it makes you think. Not only about the storyline, but also of the truth about the world's population. It's true that overpopulation is one of the world's greatest problems. I like how Dan Brown addressed in problem in a this way. Such an amazing writer. Anyway, it really does tell the readers of what may happen and can happen in the near future. Yes, we should do something about it; and yes, education and contraceptives no longer make a BIG enough difference.

But wait! Is overpopulation really true? Is the human race really headed for disaster? Although this book is fiction, it may also serve as a wake-up call for us to start caring, whether the overpopulation issue is true or not. "Only one form of contagion travels faster that a virus, and that's fear." Perhaps that the point. We were given this wake-up call so we'll care, or else. That's the fear part. What will happen if the numbers kept growing and multiplying faster than before and only a low percentage of the people cared? Will we really need to have a virus similar to the book? Will we feel the need to have a plague?

Ahhh I love books like these. It makes you think about life, the future, world problems, and all that stuff. It keeps your mind occupied for a period of time. Even though I love tear-jerker romance novels, it's nice to get a break from those and read books like these. Hahaha okay I'm sorry if my review confused you or annoyed you in any way, I am simply a fifteen-year-old girl stating her thoughts. If my review's messy, then that's probably because my thoughts are messy as well. :P

Great book! 5 stars. :)

Didn’t like it quite as much as lost symbol but still great. Engaging story and makes you think. It was a little more confusing than lost symbol
