If I knew more about Chinese society, I'd probably understand more of this experimental novel, but what I do comprehend of it's melancholy, uncanny twists and turns is pretty extraordinary. Cannot recommend enough.

Pretty difficult to follow most of the time. I was asking myself "How did we get here?" a lot, which suggests I'm easily distracted or I'm the lead singer of Paramore.

Bizarre how hard these books are to find. Wonderful, rejuvenating novel. Reminded of a Bi Gan movie.

I had a lot of trouble following this book. It was like a strange dream, where you run into your third grade teacher who is yelling about pickles while you realize your fingers are made of balloons. I didn’t mind it, but I can’t say I grasped it.
