God, this book is just so oppressively dark. I'd seen the show, so I knew what to expect, but there is scarcely a glimmer of light in the whole thing. It's a good, taut mystery, though, focusing on a truly troubled and damaged protagonist. I think the
cutting, especially the words, is a bit heavy-handed and needless
, but maybe that's just because it's triggering for me. It's a hard book to read and to recommend, but it's written well! Ha ha.

This book was almost too dark for me to finish. I was incredibly uncomfortable when the main character started doing drugs with her 13 y/o sister. The author definitely meant for us to be uncomfortable but I was on the verge of not finishing the book over it and how much it made me dislike Camille.

Everyone in this story is so disturbed (positive for the thriller). Heads up, though the violence to the victims but especially self harm is very graphic. If you have triggers about self harm especially cutting, please take that seriously into consideration before reading.

It was good! the writing was good, the story was good, i was just hoping for a bit more i guess.
Adora having MBP was a little predictable, and the murderer being Amma was also predictable. It felt like a bit of a stretch on the authors part to try to make it seem like john or someone else did it. honeslty i would’ve been better if someone completely unsuspecting ended up being the murderer.
. All around it was good, just fell short in a couple ways.
