Mythology has been reclaimed by the goddesses whom it shunted to side, and it is magnificent! Nikita Gill could be Circe for the divine and sorcerous compositions she expresses in this marvelous collection. It’s both inspiring and mesmerizing, prompting you to reflect on your own own mistakes and trauma but also your own power as well. I met goddesses and marvelous I had never heard of before, like Iphigenia, only known before as the daughter of Agamemnon, and Amphitrite, Queen of the Seven Seas and Nereid guardian of the deep. Monsters are not the villains here, nor are the heroes the saviors. Gods prey, but Goddesses are the ultimate victors. Nike is a Goddess.
Perhaps the truth about Gorgons
is they are just women,
women who do not bend to the world
or fit into the narrow mould you want them too.
Divine power is at full-strength in this new odyssey.
