This is again re-read for me, I read the first in the series again recently, and as I am in a crime/mystery reading mood, I thought I should just carry on with the series for now. you can read my review for The Surgeon as it is now up on my blog.

I really liked the side we see of Jane Rizzoli in this book. I like seeing the other side of her. I can't say too much as this is a continuation of the first book. I like how Tess Gerritsen tells the story. I wasn't as creeped out when reading this book as I was the first book but I was still thinking about how this could be anyone you know or spend your time with.

The story wasn't too fast-paced and did seem a little repetitive in some places but I personally do not think this took anything away from the story/plotline.

One thing  I didn't really like about Jane's character is how judgy she is of people, this is something she doesn't like people doing to her, so I don't understand why her character does this to other people. I will be continuing on with this series, I love how quickly I get through them.

I am definitely starting to love this series, especially after watching the first season of the series, the first two books really help bring more motivation and emotion into the series and the background information is amazing for understanding the characters.

In The Apprentice, we find Rizzoli facing her worst fears all over again when the surgeon resurface, threatening the carefully balanced life that she has now that she put him behind bars. But all that changes so fast, Rizzoli isn’t sure what or who she can believe or trust. At every turn, the surgeon is waiting and taunting.

I can’t wait to sink into the next adventure.

I really enjoy a good thriller series where I can just turn my brain off as I read, and so far this series has delivered. I appreciated that Isles was introduced in this one - I'm excited to see more of her and Rizzoli together down the road. This was a solid read that built on the story from the first book while still having some of its own plot. I am a bit confused about the first chapter of the book though. I get that it was for shock factor and seemed to be solved quickly but it felt so disconnected from the rest of the book that I just felt confused.
